What is your role and what are your duties at Innomar Strategies?
What is the best part of your job? What do you find fascinating about it?
I love the variety of experiences I am fortunate to be a part of as a result of being the head of Quality for so many different companies over the years. I have personally hosted over 60 Health Canada inspections and have gotten to know many inspectors and witnessed their different styles and focus points during inspections over the last several decades. I love that there are so many varying approaches that can be taken to achieve the same endgame of a GMP compliant quality system.
What is your superpower? What is your expertise in the pharmaceutical field?
I am very good at convincing regulators of alternative points of view by use of clear and concise logical arguments. I excel at developing quality systems and improving overall process efficiencies.
How do you foster a positive work environment within your team?
Open door policy with honesty as the number one requirement for all conversations. Full transparency and honest feedback to all. Everyone will know where they stand when interacting with me.
How do you stay ahead of industry trends and collaborate with external partners?
Attend seminars, present at conferences, participate in consultaions for HC guidance changes.
How do you integrate feedback into your work to continuously improve?
When warranted, changes are quickly adopted in quality processes or behaviours are modified to address the feedback.
What do you do when you are not working?
I enjoy spending time with my childhood friends who I have been close with since we were all 5 years old. We have large group event with games and cards. When possible we go on vacations in large groups.
In his current role as Senior Director of Quality Assurance, Brian leads a team of over 40 professionals responsible for the quality oversight of third-party logistics (3PL), Importation, Consulting, Patient Support Programs and Clinics. He also serves as the Head of Quality for multiple client drug establishment licenses (DELs), overseeing more than 450 international sites that encompass a diverse array of product types and dosage forms.
Brian brings over 29 years of experience to his current role, including a decade in pharmaceutical Quality Assurance and 19 years in QA Consulting. He is well-regarded by the Inspectorate, having hosted more than 60 Health Canada inspections and overseeing the importation of 120 DIN products.
